Aun is a projects, energy and M&A lawyer with a decade of experience advising on clean energy and infrastructure transactions. Aun's clean energy practice spans the full project lifecycle, from development through to financing and financial close.

Alongside his projects practice, Aun has advised on energy sector M&A and project finance transactions, including the acquisition of power generation portfolios. He also has significant experience in dispute resolution, having advised on LCIA proceedings involving construction disputes and tariff disputes.


Recent experience includes:

  • Acting for the seller group on the disposal of a majority stake in Rendesco Limited, the UK-based developer, owner and operator of low-carbon heat networks.

  • Advising the borrower, SRE Capital on a £300 million senior secured facility, including preparation and negotiation of the facility documentation.

  • Advising District Heating clients on the development of the suite of DH project documentation, including concession agreements, customer supply agreements, operation & maintenance agreements and metering and billing agreements.

  • Acting for the sponsors on an 884MW hydel project located in Pakistan, including negotiating and drafting all project agreements (PPA, EPCC, O&M, WUA), advising on the debt and equity financing package, achieving financial close and advising on environmental, land acquisition and all regulatory matters.

  • Acting for the sponsors in on a 182MW hydel project located in Pakistan, including negotiating and drafting all project documents (PPA, EPCC, O&M, WUA), advising on the debt and equity financing package, shareholder agreements, environmental approvals, local planning, land acquisition and all regulatory matters, achieving financial close and advised on corporate and regulatory matters post-operationalization.

  • Advising the developer of 3x50 MW WPPs located in Pakistan, on all project documents, concession documents, financing agreements, environmental approvals, land acquisition and all regulatory matters. Also advised on company restructuring through share buybacks.

  • Advising the bidder in successfully acquiring 100% shareholding of two 330 MW power plants being divested in Pakistan, including on locked-box auction SPA and advising on cross-border merger laws.
