Lux Nova Partners Welcomes Rory Tait to the Firm

Lux Nova is pleased to announce the addition of Rory Tait to the firm as a Partner.

Rory has more than 25 years’ experience in renewables and clean energy advisory work (commercial and regulatory), and has worked on a range of projects in the solar PV, biomass, biogas and wind sectors in the UK and abroad.

He led the energy practice at Edge Ellison throughout the mid-to-late 90s, before joining Eversheds in 2002 becoming UK Head of Energy in 2004 and spending six years at the firm. He has since held roles at Shoosmiths, Martineau and Everyman Legal.

Rory is currently the Secretary of the Renewable Energy Association and provides input to the REA on legal and regulatory issues. He was also until recently a director and the Secretary of the UK Business Council for Sustainable Development which roles he had held since its formation in the 1990s.

Louisa Cilenti, one of the founding partners, said:

“Rory has an excellent and established reputation. He joins us at an exciting time as we expand the firm. Not only will Rory’s hire help strengthen Lux Nova’s pipeline of work in the UK, Middle Eastern and African Markets, but he brings with him a number of clients at the forefront of energy storage which combines well with our market leadership in progressing new delivery models for decentralised energy.”

Rory Tait said:

“I am delighted to be joining Lux Nova as their focus on clean energy projects and distributed energy ties in perfectly with my area of practice and their innovative approach to the provision of legal services in this sector is compelling.”
